Our first meeting of the new calendar year featured on own Lion Jane Jarrow as the guest speaker. Many were surprised by the pop quiz we had to take (I forgot to study) about our disability I.Q. Well, Lion Jane opened our eyes to a lot of information about the barriers that people with disabilities face on a day-to-day basis that most of us never give any thought to.
Our second meeting in January was our (getting to be) annual Dutch Auction. People from near and far came to see if their quarter would be the last in the bucket – and win the big prize. Anyway, we all had a lot of fun and we made a few bucks for the club’s coffers, too! Dank u!
We also had some of our members attend the annual Upper Arlington State of the City Address and Volunteer Expo on January 25th. The event was well attended and we met a few good people interested in becoming Lions.
