AND THE WINNERS ARE…

Our annual President’s Scholarship Award winners have been selected for this year.

From Upper Arlington High School:
Michael Jeffers
Parents are Toni and Mike Jeffers

He is going to Kenyon next year, hoping to major in Economics/Math
A quote from his essay:

“While climbing the ladder of life, it is easy to look ahead and see what others have and you don’t. Most people forget to look behind them. Community service has taught me to look behind and to give a hand to those on the first step, and to help them climb, too, realizing that no one chooses their situation at birth and their starting place on the ladder.”

From Grandview Heights High School:

Sarah Meier

Parents are Elizabeth and Robert Meier

She is going to Ohio State — but hasn’t declared a major.
A quote from her essay:

“…I volunteered as a guide marcher at The Ohio State School for the Blind’s marching band camp. I learned more there in one week than I ever learned in school. I learned patience, developed problem-solving skills, and gained a sense of empathy that I never had before. Most importantly, I learned how much I take for granted and I learned to appreciate what I have.”

Each student will receive a $500 scholarship from our club. We wish them a bright and prosperous future knowing all of the hard work ahead of them will be worth it.
