The Tri-Village Lions Club is a community based service organization dedicated to assisting the blind, halting preventable blindness and various community activities. The club represents the communities of Grandview Heights, Upper Arlington and Marble Cliff. The organization believes the future of service to the disabled and the community lies with the youth of today. Lions Clubs International has over 1.3 million members world-wide. The motto of the organization is “We Serve”.
This $500 scholarship was established to assist qualified high school seniors in pursuing a college degree, in hopes of bettering our society, and to express our support for service-minded individuals in our community.
The Tri-Village Lions Club President’s Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior, one from Upper Arlington High School, one from Grandview Heights High School. The applicant must provide a high school transcript certifying maintenance of a grade point average of 3.0 or better for seven (7) consecutive semesters, as well as provide proof of a minimum of 40 hours of community service each year for the preceding two (2) years.
We invite eligible students to download and complete the application, and submit it through the individual named below. The due date for this year’s applications is Tuesday, April 10, 2012. The winners and family will be invited to receive the scholarship at a Tri-Village Lions Club dinner meeting on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 6:30PM at the MCL Cafeteria in the Kingsdale Shopping Center.
